Update Report for Laois Tourism Website Conference – dated 10th Sept 08
By Aisling Hurley Teamwoodcraft, Laois Network President
“Last Tuesday evening saw the launch of Network Ireland’s national conference. The event was attended by the crème of Laois and the large attendance is an indication of the calibre of the business women in Network Ireland (the fun way to promote your business). Revellers were greeted by the famous Bui Bolg who were fresh from their Electric Picnic experience. Cool Daddy, Yummy Mummy and The Governess kept the fun flowing with spontaneous waltzes and comments. Laois President Aisling Hurley referred to the conference being in it’s 25th year and that she was delighted to celebrate the journey of business women during that time, which had seen many changes for Irish business women including those that have moved into (and now lead) male dominated industries such as haulage, travel, manufacturing etc and how fortunate we were to have seen the election of 2 female Presidents of Ireland. The champagne continued flowing whilst the ladies were treated to a fashion show by image consultant Ann Duncan, fashion being provided by local boutiques Erre Esse and Woman. National President Maria Groarke then officially launched the conference which starts on the 2nd of October in Emo Court, Laois, with a champagne and canapé reception accompanied by a string quartet. Participants will then be escorted around Emo Court for a private viewing. Tickets available from www.networklaois.com”
