Its March and its busy all round Laois with over 90 events this month. The Mountmellick Drama Festival runs from the 8th-15th March. This super festival has been bringing the very best in ameteur drama to Laois for 29 years. The festival is part of the overall Amateur Drama Council of Ireland and attracts amateur groups from all over Ireland. There's a huge number of events planned around St Patricks weekend. Many of our towns are upping their game and running events over 2 days. Check out the guide for a full list of everything that's on. It's a busy month

6. Gordon Bennett Classic Car Run - 31st May-3rd June 2019

This hugely popular event takes place again on the June Bank Holiday Weekend 2019, between Friday May 31st and Monday 3rd June 2019, and prides itself on being the oldest motor sporting event of the year. It welcomes classic petrol heads from all over the globe to join in this, journey back in time experience. And what an experience it is, to sit in your timeless masterpiece of an automobile, whist drinking in the awe-inspiring splendour of the Irish countryside or ambling through the quaint and curious little towns. Even if you’re not taking part, it is an equally thrilling experience to be an onlooker. And if you have never had any desire to own or drive one of these vehicles before, trust that at the end of the day you will.
