LAOIS INTERNATIONAL GOLF CHALLENGE 2008

The Laois International Golf Challenge 2008, in association with 4 Aces Cash & Carry will take place from Monday 19th to Thursday 22nd May. The Challenge is open to all golfers affiliated to a club. Last year, the Laois International Golf Challenge attracted golfers and golfing societies from Ireland, U.K., Wales, Germany, Belgium and Sweden. The Challenge is a four ball, betterball competition and guarantees four days of golf with competitions and prizes each day. The best accumulated scores over the first three days will enter the final at the Seve Ballesteros designed Heritage course at Killenard, County Laois (20 teams). Those who do not make it to the final will play a separate competition on the final day. And for the first time, there will also be an option to play The Heritage Seve Ballesteros course on the final day if preferred. As well as our international visitors the event attracts many domestic and local players eager to experience the challenge of the six GUI accredited courses.

This International Challenge is an annual event. The International Golf Challenge is a fourball, betterball competition. Players will be given the chance to experience the variety and quality of at least 3 of the 6 participating golf courses: Abbeyleix, Mountrath, Portarlington, Portlaoise, Rathdowney and the Heath.

Prize presentation on Thursday evening at the Heritage for all participants. Golfers, not taking part in the Grand Final, will have the option of playing a competition over the other golf courses on Thursday morning. The tournament is open to male and female golfers who hold an offical handicap.


Fee is only EUR120 (Stg£85) per person. This includes golf on all days Monday to Thursday.
